Purchase from private

When buying a vehicle from a private individual, there are a few things to consider. A re-registration in your name is only possible if all taxes and multas (traffic tickets) have been paid and the vehicle does not have a non-confirmed ITV. A copy of the previous owner’s ID is required, as well as a signature on a form from the Tráfico.

It is therefore very important to check that the seller is also the registered owner of the vehicle before buying. In addition, transfer tax is always payable on private purchases in Spain.

In this case, the dealer will take care of all the necessary steps to register the vehicle in your name and will hand over the vehicle documents to you.
